Everyone in town seems to know LifePath, the Wellness Center and Guest House previously located in Centro on Pila Seca. Run—and now solely owned—by Dr. Beverly Nelson, the center offers such healing modalities and classes as yoga, Mayan massage, Thai massage, Thai reflexology, Thai aroma oil massage, craniosacral therapy, polarity therapy, acupuncture, QiGong, silent meditation, hypnotherapy, and psychotherapy. All of their in-house practitioners are experts in their respective fields.
What you may not know is that Dr. Nelson—Bev to her friends—researched 65 potential new locations before choosing a new location, remodeling it, and moving last month. And to celebrate their new location on the Riconada de la Aldea—the tiny walking path that meanders around behind Café Monet—Bev and her host of volunteers and staff threw a fun-raiser to raise funds for their nonprofit operation and to improve the walkway leading to the center.
Entertainment was a big part of the evening, from David Garza’s Vudu Chile gang taking us back in time, to Jennifer Hofmann’s Danza Africana—shown here—whose undulating form and mesmerizing smile could charm the wellness back into Keith Richards, even! Jennifer—who holds an M.A. and is a Medical Anthropologist—is also one of 16 practitioners at LifePath.
