Foodies like me–I resemble that remark!–have heard of the upcoming Open Table event to be hosted March 20-23 at the development project called Otomi, just outside San Miguel de Allende.
As Living and Travel posts, this long-awaited gourmet event brings together international chefs like Rick Bayless (Frontera, USA), Mauro Colagreco (2 stars Michelin, France), Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli (The Frankies, USA) as well as local chefs like Mexican Collective Kitchen’s Jorge Vallejo (Quintonil), Elena Reygadas (Rosetta), and Benito Molina (Chamonix), with Chefs from San Miguel restaurants like Moxi (Hotel Matilda), The Restaurant, 1826 (Rosewood Hotel), Cumpanio, Patio 3, Hacienda Guadalupe, Calenda and Xinhui. Chefs Ricardo Muñoz Zurita (Blue and Gold Café), Dante Ferrero (Neuquén), and Edgar Núñez (Barra Vieja) will also participate.
And as announced here in Atención, San Miguel de Allende’s own tequila brand, Casa Dragones, hosts a special event with celebrity bartender Jim Meehan from Manhattan’s PDT. Your blogger would personally prefer to see Dragones spokeswoman Sandra Chollet poring shots with her French flair, but hey, it’s great tequila no matter who pours.
To top off the week, our Number One Ranked Hotel in all of Mexico, the Rosewood San Miguel, hosts Mexican Chef Rick Bayless on Saturday, March 22. I’m going to trot around the corner and join Rick, just to tickle my tastebuds–come on down and join me!
